Agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia is a serious neuropsychiatric condition that is highly prevalent and underdiagnosed. It contributes to adverse clinical outcomes for people living with Alzheimer’s dementia and causes significant burden for care partners. In response to evidence of miscommunication from a social listening analysis, the Global Council on Alzheimer’s Disease (GCAD) collaborated with Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc., to sponsor a series of three virtual agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia expert panels involving both healthcare professionals and people who have lived experience with agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia.
