Confirmatory testing for food allergies and epinephrine carriage are more important than ever, now that new findings reveal greater numbers of US adults are reporting food allergies. Gupta, MD, MPH, from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and Christopher Warren, PhD(c), from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, discuss their research and the role of primary care providers in diagnosing food allergies.

Ruchi S. Gupta, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatrician, professor of pediatrics and medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, clinical attending at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, and director of the Science & Outcomes of Allergy & Asthma Research (SOAAR) team.

Christopher Warren, PhD(c), BA, is a doctoral candidate at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, and researcher with Dr Gupta’s SOAAR team.
